I am a philosopher of mind and technology with an interest in the ethical, legal and societal implications of AI and neurotechnologies. I approach those implications from the perspective of responsible innovation and value sensitive design. In particular, I am interested in developing and operationalising the notion of Meaningful Human Control to address responsibility gaps in human-AI interaction.
I am also a passionate teacher. I teach bachelor and master courses in ethics and societal impact of AI. In the Donders CNS master’s programme, I teach the course Neurophilosophy.
My main driving ideal is providing future AI and CNS professionals with the skills to create and contribute to an enduring dialogue between science, technology and society.
